On the second day of Christmas, my donor gave to me…a day spent with family, loving every minute of it.
We all have our own special family traditions at Christmas, and I think that’s what makes it so special.
Your Christmas is different to everyone else’s. That’s what I love about this time of year; family, tradition, laughter, love and time to unwind with the people we love.
That can also bring up sadness and loss in a family, and I always think of each of my donor families, who must be missing their loved ones now more than ever.
I hope that it may be of some help or comfort to know that their gift has given me and my family such inexplicable joy, especially at Christmas time.
If you can have a conversation about organ donation this christmas, know that you will have helped someone. And that conversation could be what means the difference between this being someone’s last christmas, or having many more to look forward to!
Thank you.
