Four is the magic number?

Well, here we are again. In another ICU, recovering from another liver transplant – my fourth. Seeing it in black and white is still quite surreal.

This has been a very different recovery though, two and a half months after the transplant and I’m still in ICU. There’s a long long way to go.

For my first blog back I just wanted to say hi, and see where it goes from there. It’s difficult to explain how I’m feeling at the moment, everything is still so strange. Wires and tubes attached to me and I can’t get out of bed by myself yet. With help from the physio team I hope to get stronger over the coming months and gradually have less attachments.

The most important thing to say is thank you. Thank you once again to a perfect stranger who has saved my life, I will always be grateful for you. And to myself, keep going, because even though I don’t always feel it, I am recovering and I need to get better – I have a lot more living to do!

Notes from the ICU
