On the seventh day of Christmas, my donor gave to me…another incredible year.
Can you believe that today is the last day of 2016? Where has the time gone?
I want to thank everyone who has made this year so successful for the Live Loudly Donate Proudly campaign, we have accomplished a lot, and put plans together to achieve even more next year!
For teachers, doctors and friends, psychologists, physiotherapists, the Live Loudly team, and anyone who has supported or encouraged us at all; we are truly thankful. But most of all, we thank the donor families for their courage and the donors for their gift of life, that means the world to so many.
This year has seen Live Loudly host our first ever fundraising event – our amazing night at the Tullyglass. We have launched our website and the blogs are becoming frequent. We have been an important part of raising awareness for Organ Donation in Northern Ireland, and we hope to do even more in the coming year.
It’s been a magnificent year and a tough one, joyful and moving, exciting and frustrating – all at the same time! There is every reason to be excited for a new one.
Before we say goodbye to 2016 though, it might be time to have that conversation about organ donation. Get your family together and start the new year knowing that your wishes will be honoured if anything were ever to happen.
Enjoy the festivities with the people you love. Be thankful for each moment of it and don’t stress too much about all those ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. Just make one – live life to the fullest and enjoy each day.
Happy New Year everyone, see you in 2017!
